China Block Board Exports Grow Steadily with New Changes in Trade Pattern

Customs and industry data show China, the world’s largest block board exporter, saw 484,800 cubic meters of exports in 2025, with steady growth, optimized structure and diversified markets, but also trade barrier challenges.

China’s joinery board exports have risen steadily in recent years. In 2025, export volume increased by 18.65% year-on-year, but unit price dropped by 30.94%, warning of low-price competition risks.

Market distribution is diversified: Jordan was the top destination in 2025; Southeast Asia (35%-40%), North America & Europe (about 45%, strict environmental certification); Morocco is a key African market.

Products are shifting to green and functional. Machine-spliced poplar-core boards (over 70%) are mainstream; ENF-grade and functional boards are more popular, with 1220×2440mm (18mm, over 60%) as main specs.

Trade barriers emerged: Morocco launched an anti-dumping investigation on China and Indonesia’s joinery boards in Feb 2026; enterprises must respond timely to avoid losing competitiveness.

Insiders note Shandong, Hebei and Jiangsu support exports. Enterprises should avoid low-price competition, enhance added value and respond to trade barriers for high-quality development.
