Definition and structural characteristics of plywood
Plywood is a plate-shaped material made up of multiple layers of veneer glued together with adhesive. It is usually composed of odd numbered layers of veneer, and the wood grain directions of adjacent layers of veneer are perpendicular to each other. This structure makes the physical and mechanical properties of plywood in the longitudinal and transverse directions relatively small, with characteristics such as small deformation, low shrinkage rate, and smooth surface. Veneer is generally made by rotary cutting or planing wood, with common layers including plywood, plywood, etc. In rare cases, even layers may also occur.


The classification of plywood can be done from multiple dimensions, as follows:
Classified by purpose: including furniture plywood, construction plywood, decorative plywood, etc., suitable for furniture manufacturing, building finishing and decoration, decorative panel bottom board and other scenarios.
Classified by manufacturing materials: natural plywood (using natural wood or bamboo), synthetic plywood (using synthetic resin), and artificial plywood (using artificial wood or fiberboard).
Classified by process: there are flat plywood, curved plywood, and colored plywood.
Classified by performance: such as weather resistant and boiling water resistant plywood (Class I, steam treated for outdoor use), water-resistant plywood (Class II, short-term hot water immersion), moisture resistant plywood (Class III, short-term cold water immersion, suitable for indoor use), etc.
